Data Opt-Out Requests
Privacy Notice: What You Need to Know
Selectabase processes personal data, and our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information obtained from third parties for use in our direct marketing products and services.
The Benefits of Receiving Relevant Direct Marketing Offers
There are many benefits to receiving relevant direct marketing offers. However, we recognise that individuals or businesses may sometimes wish to unsubscribe, or “opt-out,” of direct marketing.
If you would like to reduce the amount of marketing communication you receive from all organisations, there are several industry-wide opt-out lists that you can subscribe to, depending on the communication channel:
- Postal Marketing — You can opt out of postal marketing by registering with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS). This is a service administered by the Direct Marketing Association and recognised by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). For those who wish to reduce baby-related mailings, the Baby Mailing Preference Service.
- Telephone Marketing (B2C / Individuals / Sole Traders) — To opt out of domestic telemarketing activity, you can register your details with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).
- Telephone Marketing (B2B / Companies / Corporates) — To opt out of corporate telemarketing activity, register your details with the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS).
Opting Out from Our Marketing List Suppliers
You may also request suppression directly with our marketing data list suppliers. Selectabase respects the transparency requirements under UK GDPR and has provided links to our suppliers, who each have their own suppression procedures:
- Where you have received consumer postal marketing — Experian Consumer
- Where you have received business postal, telephone or email marketing — Experian Business
Opting Out from Selectabase’s Marketing Lists Provided to Its Clients
If you want to prevent your personal data from being used for direct marketing by Selectabase’s clients, your details will be added to the Selectabase marketing suppression file. Data used for direct marketing will be screened against this file, ensuring your details are not passed to any of our clients.
To respect your wishes, we will continue to process your personal data in a suppression file. We retain only the minimum information required to identify you and ensure your preferences are maintained. This prevents further processing if your data comes to Selectabase from another source.
You will not be contacted if you prefer not to be, and your personal data will not be used in any way that you object to—either by Selectabase or our clients. However, opting out does not prevent other organisations from collecting your data.
Our Opt-Out Policy
Selectabase will process your opt-out request within 30 days.
Use the form below to suppress your contact details from the list rental databases that we make available to our direct marketing clients. Records that exactly match the details you provide will be suppressed.
