Your Data Rights

Privacy Notice: What You Need to Know

Selectabase processes personal data, and our Privacy Policy outlines how we use personal information obtained from third parties for our direct marketing products and services. This privacy notice explains how we handle personal data contained in the marketing lists provided to our clients. For further details, please refer to section 5 of our privacy policy: Information Obtained from Third Parties for Use in Our Direct Marketing Products and Services.

Data Protection and Your Rights

Data protection laws ensure that your personal data is used properly and legally by organisations. As an individual, you have several rights regarding your personal data. These include:

Right to be Informed: Understand What Happens to Your Personal Data

The “right to be informed” means that we must provide clear information about how and why your personal data is used for marketing purposes. If you submit a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) you will receive a summary of how your data is used alongside your report..

Right of Access: See What Personal Data We Hold About You

The “right of access” allows you to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is known as a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR). To obtain a copy of your personal data, visit our Data Subject Access Request or contact our Customer Services Team.

Right to Rectification: Correct Any Errors in Your Personal Data

The “right to rectification” allows you to request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold. Selectabase typically holds limited information, such as your name and postal address, which is sourced from our data suppliers with appropriate permissions. If you believe your data is inaccurate, we will update it in our systems accordingly.

For more details on how we use your personal data, refer to section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

Right to Erasure (Right to Be Forgotten): Request Deletion of Your Data

The “right to erasure,” also known as the “right to be forgotten,” allows you to request the deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances. This right is not absolute and applies only in specific situations.

If you request data deletion, Selectabase will retain the minimum amount of personal data necessary in a suppression file to ensure that, should we receive your data from another source in the future, it will not be re-incorporated into our marketing database. You can make this request through our Data Opt-Out Request page.

We screen all personal data used for direct marketing against this suppression file to ensure that no details of those who have opted out are shared with clients.

Right to Restrict Processing: Control How Your Data is Used

The “right to restrict processing” allows you to request limitations on how we use your personal data if you have concerns about its accuracy or the way it’s being used.

At Selectabase, we implement this right in line with your right to object (described below).

Right to Data Portability: Move Your Personal Data

The “right to data portability” enables you to request that we provide the data you have given to us in a machine-readable format, either to yourself or a third party. However, this right does not apply to our marketing services, as we do not receive personal data from you directly.

Right to Object: Request That We Stop Using Your Data

The “right to object” allows you to request that we stop processing your personal data. However, this is not an absolute right, and in certain circumstances, we may be permitted to continue processing your data.

To request that we stop using your data for direct marketing purposes, visit our Data Opt-Out Request page.

For more information on how we use your data, refer to section 5 of our Privacy Policy.
